I will risk taking the other side of the argument and ask, what is the reasonable limit for capacity on personal defence weapons? Let's face it - if high capacity magizines were not legal in Arizona, the perp in this case would have been unlikely to have had one, and would have used what he could ha...

Pete - thanks for suggesting Falcon - I've bookmarked their website for future use. Given their backlog (6 months per the website), I decided to go with the LSP barrel and scope mount for now. I would dearly love to have a barrel from Mr. Lombardi, but at this point I doubt that I could specify the ...

Bullseye, Stork and Hardball - Thanks for your insights and suggestions. The 6" barrel and mount from LSP sounds like a good choice at a pretty reasonable price.

Thanks, Bullseye. One of my concerns is whether or not VQ's HS scope mount would require removing the frame mounted rear sight on my Supermatic Trophy. I want to be able to just change barrels and go from iron sights to red dot and back without any sighting in. Or could one just cut off a small amou...

New barrel for HS 107

I have a delightful old High Standard 107 Supermatic Trophy with the longer fluted barrel with which I'm learning to shoot bullseye with iron sights. However, while I'm improving significantly and intend to keep practicing, I suspect that I may need to use a red dot to be competative at the local cl...

leadsafe bullets for bullseye

I'm about to start handloading again for bullseye shooting, and I noticed that MidwayUSA was selling something called "Rainier LeadSafe Bullets 45 Caliber (451 Diameter) 200 Grain Plated Semi-Wadcutter ". Has anyone heard of these, and is there any feedback on whether these bullets perform well for ...

Thanks NGIB and Bullseye, I will try bending that spring. However, when I bought the gun, I was living in Hawaii and Ed Masaki looked it over for me. He did bend the spring a bit, but it was still way too light. So I suspect that it may need a new sear. I'll probably not get to it until after the ho...

Need help with light trigger on 1911

This is a first post, although I've visited many times to browse and learn. I have a Springfield Armory Custom Trophy 1911 that has been customized as a bullseye pistol - it shoots quite well, but has a light trigger at about 2.25 lbs. Ideally, I would like to find someone to work on it who is local...
