Winter in the West Texas mountains.

Post by charlesb » Sat Jan 11, 2014 3:39 pm

Last night I had to leave around 10 PM to pick up my sweetheart from her job - and I had to stop at one point so a trophy mule deer could get out of my way, about a block from my house.

His rack was the best I have ever seen, I'd hate to have to guess how many points were on it. He went up into an overgrown empty lot that stands between my neighborhood and the state highway. - We've seen deer bedding down in there before.

When I bought the house, the real estate agent warned us not to plant anything in the flower beds because the deer would just eat it. - He joked about buying a bow, because it is illegal to discharge firearms in the city limits.
