Is the great USA beyond economic, moral, or political repair ?

Economies ebb and flow, we are just experiencing a protracted downturn amplified by poor stewardship on the part of our governmental leadership. Any college student learns you don't solve debt by running up more credit bills; too bad our government doesn't get that concept. I'm a firm believer that we don't have a too little taxing problem, rather our financial difficulties are rooted into too much spending. Most households cut back on spending when their budgets are strained - except the government.

If they keep spending money they/we don't have, Yes. Democrats want to spend spend spend, doesn't matter if they have the money or not.

Companies go out of business pretty quick if they spend money they don't have. If our government was a business they would have been out of business about 35 yrs ago.

There is sill hope but they have to stop spending what they don't have. We can not operate that way, why should our government.

It seems that far too many of the wrong people are in charge of the repair work. Self-serving, greedy egotists that really haven't a clue of what should be done or how to do it.

Everything having become more "global" leaves too much of what's wrong out of our hands, too. Every saber rattling nutjob out there has more effect on everyone else.

There are people with the right knowledge to salvage what's left. If they are identified and listened to.

Honestly, scares the hell out of me.

We do have a nationwide epidemic of chronic stupidity. It may be our biggest problem.

I think one of the biggest problems is that too few politicians have actually ever WORKED for a living. They have no understanding of the real world. These "brilliant" people leading our country are all worked up about raising the debt ceiling. They think that's gonna solve the problem.
I ask you this. If you had run up your credit card to the max, and you could no longer make the payments, do you think getting your credit limit raised would fix anything as far as the overall problem, or only fix the short term problem of paying next month's bill?
I'm just an ole country boy, but I think I have it figured out.
