MarkIII Rear Site Blade Replacement

Post by kc5gxc » Wed Apr 30, 2008 7:12 am

Hi....new guy here with new MkIII
I want to replace rear blade only. Am sure can order MkII target blade . My Question is how the blade comes out of the rear adjustable site assembly. Can someone say how they got theirs out? Also, if I can find a narrow target apeture rear sight blade, would it work better with the hi vis front site??
Thanks and thanks for the opportunity to post. I sure like my Ruger.
Pete

Here is a sight blade installation guide. http://www.guntalk-online.com/2245detai ... sightblade

To remove the blade you have to unscrew the windage adjusting screw and then slide the blade over until the dimple aligns with the semi-circular cut-out.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, R. I just ordered the blade from Numrich....called first and got an automated code # for free shipping....went to web site and ordered the blade (standard notch, not narrow apeture) for a MK II Target model.
Got free shipping for a total on my CC of $1.82. That ain't bad.
Thanks, Pete

Yep...gotta save a few bucks...If you call their toll free line, seems like they give you free shipping if you then go online and use the coupon code they give you only on the phone!!
At any rate, I just ordered the peep site set and a front site for a MKII target(I think that's what it was for-bull barrel site for sure). 2nd order as I had just ordered a plain blade. I am hoping I can get something to work better for me with the hi vis sites (new MKIII Hunter), or maybe install the regular front site.
Toy, what is your call sign?
Thanks
