S&W 22A Ejector Replacement

Post by billspin » Tue May 08, 2012 8:28 am

Can anyone point me to a manual that I can either download or purchase that will describe the disassembly / assembly steps for replacing the Ejector. I have found instructions for the Slide Insert and the Extractor. I have been having some problems with FTE and would like to replace the Ejector to see if this solves the problem.

blue68f100- Thanks for the link. This only shows the Owners Manuals. Still looking for more of a gunsmith's type manual about disassembly / assembly instructions.

Greener, thanks for the reply. But I am after instructions for the Ejector removal (part #2 on the parts drawing). I have gotten the Extractor replacement down pat with only one spring and plunger lost so far. Thanks again and I will still hope someone out there knows how to easily replace the Ejector. Bill

I've never stripped one to that level but it looks like if you remove the spring plate assembly the ejector will come out if you remove the takedown hammer stop pin.

greener,
Thanks for the nudge I needed to just get into it and work with the removal. I did just remove the spring plate assembly and it all started to come apart. Got is all stripped down and cleaned, lubed, and ejector replaced. It even works when I put it back together! Not that hard just time consuming and glad I took pictures before I took it apart to review as I put it back together. Thanks again.

Greener,
I have a PDF document with pictures of what I did.
Is there a way to upload a document to the forum?
Thanks Bill

I looked around and didn't see instructions for posting images on the forum. Not hard. Get an account on one of the free image sites like photobucket or picassa web. Photobucket has an image (IMG) code link that pasted here will show up as the photo. On picassa web you use the embed image, no link, and size options. Copy the link and use the Img tag and you get the photo.

Bill has sent me an email with a .pdf document attached concerning his 22A. Once he gives me permission I will place it up on the Guntalk-Online server for all to use.
