This is a brand new product and I haven't seen one yet.

Sounds like they are adding a spring to assist the release, if so they will go in harder also. Like my 22/45 MarkII's just hit the button and the mag falls out. Never cared for the little heel catch n the standard pistol, made a quick mag changes pretty difficult. Used to shoot pins and plates, the plate course was 10 plates and a mag change was required. Do you remember a mag release that fit under the left hand grip and activated by your thumb, that was a lot of years back.

I wonder how it works? On my Mark III the mag safety hung up the mag and would only allow it to drop half an inch or so. Strangely enough I lost the mag safety when I accurized it. It's around here somewhere. :D

Wish they had a picture of it.

Photos up!

So it looks like it will help the Magazine out just as it is released.

OK, can see how it works now and it looks like it will make the mag just a little harder to seat fully. Not familiar with the steel frame pistols as mine are MarkII 22/45's and the mag just drops out when you hit the release full or empty.

This looks like it has a very stiff spring operating the new mag ejection lever. This would definitely increase the seating pressure needed to install a magazine, at least that final fraction of an inch. I'm a little curious that if a mag that is not fully seated, or nearly/partially seated, could it jostle loose and effectively disable a pistol with the magazine safety disconnector lever in place?

Yes that spring does look pretty stout, is the hole they are using to mount it the old magazine latch pin hole?

Bullseye, do you remember about 20 years back, someone made an aftermarket release that fir under the left hand grip and had a little nub that hit with your thumb to dump the mag fast?

Yes, that was for the Mark I/II series pistols and was called the Speed-Jector.

Thanks my friend, have not seen one of those in years, the one my friend had did work good though. Our plate course had 10 plates but a reload was required by the local rules, pretty hard to do with a stock Mark I or II.

Since I did the mag safety removal mod, my magazines practically fly out of the grip anyway.

I bought one. It seems to have the added benefit of holding the magazine as low as it should sit in the gun at all times. It might help with stovepipes if combined with the mag positioning mod.

I like it. It took a bit of oil to get it working smoothly. It's alloy. Wish it was black. A little alumahyde will fix that.

FORCEFULLY LAUNCHES OUT MAGS!
