Sounds like you got a mix up with your instructions. As you know, the Mark III does have the mag disconnect and the earlier Mark II doesn't. You can look at my Ruger service pages and see the differences between the models. http://www.guntalk-online.com/service.html

Glad you are enjoying the VQ trigger. And you got to learn about all the fu you are missing by not having a MKIII.
