I've read of Title 18, U.S.C., section 922(r), and none of it makes sense to me.
I have a Chinese SKS imported by Glnic LA, CA.
Since it was legally imported, I assume it's legal.
There used to be a 3 strikes law that applied to make it an assault weapon.
Now I stumble across this. Confused is an understatement.
It has a bayonet mount, but I removed the bayonet as I replaced the stock with one made by ATI (sks3000 fiberforce). It's US made.
I will get mags that are US made, but they count as 3 of the ten strikes???
The bayonet MOUNT counts as a strike by just being there.
Don't matter if the bayonet is mounted or not.
The whole concept is beyond me.
So how many "bad" parts does my rifle contain as it was legally imported?
And how does replacing a "foreign" part with a "domestic" part make the rifle any less lethal??? The bayonet thing is a joke! If someone got that close to me, I'd use my sidearm!
So if I replace 6 of the original parts with US made parts, I'm down to 4 strikes? Then I can add a laser, scope, bipod, night sights, and silencer, and still be under ten???
And if replacing foreign parts with domestic parts knocks down the count; how does a US made magazine count as 3 strikes?
Can anyone make any sense of this for me?
