My Garand is one of my favorite rifles, but I am fairly new to it. The internal diagrams (moving no less) at the link are helpful to understanding how it works.

And I love that "ping!" sound when the clip ejects.

I bought a 1,000 rds of '30 .06 from CMP, so now I have plenty of opportunity to hear it more.

The Garand is one of my favorites too. One of the fastest rifles to reload because half the work's done by the self ejecting clip, just slam in a new one, and bump and run!
