Barring an unforseen attack of common sense I plan on getting out Sunday and trying at least the 10 rounds of 158 SWC's with 3.5 grains of Green Dot. If all goes well we will load more.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

In order to avoid an attack of common sense, I went to the range today as the temp went up to 34F and the wind was not bad. I made the only set pf tire tracks in and out of the range, Bear and I too TAZ and Remona, Remona wanted to try her new to us Bushnell, worked fine for a 20 buck pawn shop find. Again nos scope changes on TAZ, had the 2.5-10 Tasco on it and waiting for the k4 that should e here Tuesday. Again TAZ really likes the S&B Sot points, extremely well. Have tried the 158SWC with 3.5, 3.8, and 4.0 Green Dot loads, the 4.0 and the 3.5 show promise, maybe I should try 10 each at 3.2 abd 4.2. Who knows need advice.

I'm very pleased with the fact that it likes everything you feed it 8) As to advice, I'm only using 2400 so, no ideas on the GD. Is 4.0 under that 158 gr a hot or mid level load? Any leading to speak of? Regards

Have not looked at the bore lately, 4.0 is not that heavy, I may try 4.2 but most of it shoots good. Factory S&B shoots greaaaat.

Looks like TAZ like the higher Velocity loads, you might want to try some 357 mag stuff just to see how it shoots... beyond that I think the 4.0 load is looking pretty good (if you take the flier out) I use universal cays for my .38spl loads 4.0gr with a 158gr lswc bullet works for me.

Well it worked out just fine, we did get out this afternoon in 34 degree drizzly weather and try it. The firing line has a nice roof over it. Universal clays is a little slower burning powder more like Alliant Unique. Green Dot is pretty much the same as International Clays.

Chalk up a couple for operator error and the other 8 are right there.

Well. it's above freezing, barely but above. So, Bear and I are taking TAZ and the the old timer to the range and do some ammo testing and fun shooting.

Weeeel, we were mistaken, it was not above freezing but a little below and we had a little wind like 10mph or so. But we had changed the scope on TAZ and we wanted to prove the "magic load" as not a fluke. 5 shots to get the scope zeroed in and the 5 of the SWC's and 5 of the WC load to prove thiings out and it did. I make the 5 shots to be just under 1/2 inch on centers max.
