We haven't heard much lately about the S&W Bodyguard .380? What's the latest lowdown on the gun?

I really like my Body Guard easy to carry just a very very long trigger pull

I went another direction. I picked up a Taurus PT-709 Slim for my bride. About the same size as the Bodyguard but in 9mm. The main thing she liked about it was the grip diameter is more fitting to the size of her hand.

I checked out the Taurus on Gun Blast and it seems like an impressive FA. One feature I liked, although I'm not sure the benefits, is the ability to pull the trigger additional times when encountering a "dud" strike, without recharging the slide. I am also one who errs on the side of caution with a manual safety. My Kahr doesn't have either of the two issues mentioned above, but I still like it. I have also been finding my Beretta Bobcat very reliable with the CCI type ammo, and carry it often.

I found the multi-strike capability a plus myself. Because the pistol has a DA/SA capability you can fire the striker many times. It does seem to have a long trigger travel but I don't really see that as a negative.

From just handling, the Bodyguard seems to be a competent .380. I have the Taurus 738 and, for what I want in a small .380, it does a fine job. Almost all of the .380 small pistols seem to be reasonably good. I think going up to a small 9mm might be better if you are not going to try to pocket carry.

I bought a Bodyguard 380 and took it to the range on Friday. I love it! The function is smooth and the trigger, while a long pull, is not too heavy and fairly smooth. I fired 20 rounds with no faults. Best of all, the sights and accuracy was dead on! I never thought I would fire as good a target from 25 feet with a "mouse gun!" I certainly never did with my Seecamp which I have been carrying for years.

Good report and good shooting. Looks good at 25 feet.

That trigger pull may smooth-up some more over time and some use.

I bought my little BG380 approx. 3 weeks ago. The best little pocket gun that I have ever carried. I did not think the 380 cal to be a very good round or gun, but after handling the BG380 it sure changed my mind. Mine also fired good and accurate on the range. My NAA pug now stays at home, I use the BG for pocket carry now.

I know this thread is fairly old, but I couldn't help but put my .02 in here. Just bought one of these tiny guns and I have been pleasantly surprised. 100 rds so far and absolutely no malfunctions. On top of that, the accuracy is pretty amazing for a mouse gun. In fact, the last time I owned a .380 in a package roughly this size, I swore to never own another. Changed my mind now. I'm impressed.
