They really sold me. Essex frame, US&S slide. Trigger is pretty good and seems to be pretty accurate at 25 yards. This is the "mate" to the other beater 1911 I bought. Not as much frame wear. Something to play around with, but one probably goes onto the market, eventually, when I get a round tuit

Well beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I see another BoMar "rollo" rear sight, a drop-in beavertail grip safety, a really unusual extended slide release, "commander"style rounded hammer, and looks like a parkerized Videcki trigger. Is that whole pistol parkerized? How's it shoot?

I would say, the person on this forum that "must" have the most guns is Greener. He seems to get one every month. I guess jealousy will get me little.

nice pistol dad, I think I like the stag grips in the background betterthan the pearls.

Haka, he's making up for lost time. he only got back into shooting 7 years ago after about 30 off! now all us kids are out on our own (for the most part)

I hear that!! I had 3 guns when the kids started comming. I still had the same 3 when the last one left home. (long time ago). Since then, I have been spending thier inheritance. You know that an empty spot is the safe is a sin, right??

The pistol shoots pretty well. I fired it before I bought it and was a bit high and right at 25 yards, but I didn't adjust the sights.

The frame and slide are blued. Very tight barrel lug fit. M P (?) stamped on the barrel. I think I need to order some parts (slide release, hogue grips), etc.

Haka: Virginia has a one-handgun-per-month law.

Those pear; grips are cool, Greener. I/m sure George Patton would be proud of you. I know Virginia has a none handgun a month law, but that does not mean that you HAVE to buy one/

I'm going to check out the Michigan Laws, maybe I've gone over the limit? Oh well, it wouldn't be the worst thing I've done.

haka, the only limit here in MI is one pistol per permit to purchase. oh yes and your credit card limit. ...and what you can hide from your wife!

I like the pearl, too. You know, Patton actually carried one Colt SAA, not two, and a 1911. Have you got a SAA, greener? Maybe next month you need one, with pearl grips, and a double holster rig for both!

Oh, you mean I don't have to buy one a month? Don't tell bgreene's mom.

I think Patton carried a.45 Colt SAA and a S&W .357 with ivory handles. The movie had him saying some uncomplimentary things about folks who carry pearl-handled handguns.

I actually knew that. I was just trying to help along your one gun a month habit........

I saw something once on History Channel, I think it was, that showed Patton's guns in a museum somewhere. Seems like he also had a Colt 1903 in his pocket? The movie shows him shooting at German Heinkel 111's with a small pistol. A little research is due here.....
