George;

I think we are on the right track.
Acouple more hundred rounds in each magazine will probably prove the theory.
Glad we all could help out your situation.
Nothing worse than a firearm that is not reliable, whether it be for self defense or a registered match with an aliby(I hate alibi's, that is why I keep a clean gun and good ammo and magazines and springs and proper lubrication).

KAZ;

Sorry about the simple quip on magazines, but was more focused on Georges problem.
Yes, there are cheap junk magazines out there, but as long as you stay with a reputable manufacturer and the proper ball mag or swc mag, you will be fine.
Sometimes you need to mess with the lips, but generally it is the proper making of the ammunition(this is just my honest opinion).
Polishing the feed ramp helps a lot also on some pistols.

My CCW pistol is a Para Ordnance P14-45.
I have three Para double stack mags with Wolff springs installed.
Had a few issues after purchasing the gun, but after polishing the feed ramp and polishing the slide stop hump on the inside, all issues went away and it just keeps on ticking.
I feel very safe with 15 rounds of Winchester .45 230gr SXT cocked and locked contained in my Milt Sparks VM2 holster :wink:
