I thought that I'd try irons as a follow along to Plazashooter's last match.
It's been a while since I shot without a red dot.

Shooting the dot is almost like cheating, isn't it? Sure makes sighting easier for aging eyes.

I don't even have aging eyes, and it still almost feels like cheating. For me timed and rapid strings are really tough with iron sights. I have a lot of respect for past national champions that shot the scores they did with iron sights.

Looks like you're well on the way for that 'hard' leg. This may be your year!

Thanks for the kind words Pete and Bullseye.

We shot a registered 2700 today here in sunny Arizona.
.22 NMC score

Slow fire=90-2x
Timed fire=99-6x
Rapid fire=99-5x

NMC=288-13x

Same gun and ammo(basically the same score at 25yds as at 50 yds for slow fire). go figure

Clarence: How did the whole 2700 go for you? The .22 NMC is nice. I suspect the rest is also.

Today:
SF - 89
TF - 98 3X
RF - 94 2x

NMC - 281 5X

HS Victor, Falcon barrel, Ultradot. Ammo was some old steel cased Russian .22s, labeled "Junior", that I bought a case of years ago. It was some of the first ammo imported from Russia.

Pete;

I am one of those guys stuck in expert class for the last couple years.

.22=859-30x
CF=829-19x
.45=836-19x
Agg=2524-68x

I wanted to make master this year.
Maybe I will, maybe I wont...
