Count me in on this one. Our 50' Indoor League meets tomorrow night, will use the NMC score from that one.

I would like to try this, but am a complete noob. Could you post a "how too" on scoring? Where is a good place to order targets....or can they be downloaded from the internet?

Noob questions for sure, but I think this will be great fun.

It has a tremendous wealth of information.

Scoring is pretty easy.

1. count the number of shots, should equal 10.

2. Any shot touching a higher scoring ring (closer to center of target) scores the higher score.

3. for our purposes, if in doubt, take a .22 caliber case and slide it into the hole. if the case (not the rim!!) touches the ring it scores the higher value. (poor mans scoring aid)

4. add them all up. (the easy way is start at 100 and subtract shot values less than 10). Ex: if you have a 7 that would equal 10-7=3. 100-3=97

If you can, post thumbnail pics of your targets and one of us can help you with the scoring. Uploading to Photobucket.com will allow you to make thumbnails you can post here to save bandwidth.

I am definitely in on this one......seems like a great way to learn something new! I probably won't post anything for a couple of weeks as we are getting ready to go out of town, but when I get back, I will post my first results - good or bad!

geez, I shot a 254 1x this afternoon looks like I got some work to do...I was shooting with irons though. I'm still getting the hang of this one hand shooting thing...

Shooting 255 is a good start. The way I see it you were averaging about 85% per string. Don't feel out classed. That's a very good starting point. It takes some time to develop those skills. Look for the highlights and build on them. Perhaps one string went particularly well, or you really felt good shooting one of the strings. That's the kind of positive skill building that is essential to higher performance. Don't dwell on the negative. Stay positive.

thanks bullseye...If I cand get all of em in the blak I would be much happier, but I am not unhappy now. its not easy to switch from two handed combat type shooting to one hand style From a weaver stance I think I could shoot a 275-280... i am liking the challenge of it

Once you really get the hang of one handed shooting, you'll find it hard to shoot with two.

I have to use higher strength bifocals switching to two hands on my revolvers.

Nice weather this morning so went out to the range for a little play time. Decided to take the S&W K-38 with me just for grins. Haven't shot anything but steel plates with in in years so this seemed like as good a time as any to break out some wadcutters and see what it looked like on paper. Used a fairly inexpensive Tasco red dot sight.

NMC was 75 slow fire, 91-1x timed fire and 97-4x rapid fire for a total of 263-5x. Used B-8 and B-16 targets at 25 yards. Those 38 Spl wadcutters sure do make a nice easy to score hole in the paper.

All fired one-handed but not sure the rapid fire strings were actually within 10 seconds as I didn't set up a timer. Not eligible for the NMC match either as it is a centerfire... not a rimfire. Sure was fun though, gonna have to do that again.

I'm going backwards on this deal.........I had my appendix out early Sunday morning, so no shooting for a while.
