A little rattle and wiggle is normal with a pump shotgun. you are basically sliding two pipes (the magazine tube and the fore end assembly) over each other a little clearence is needed to make it beable to move back and forth to work the action.

IF your fore end is loose on the fore end tube, check the nut on the front (muzzle end) of the fore end assemblely, and tighten accordingly.

if you want a rattle free shotgun go with a break action (side by side, over and under, or single shot) or a semi auto

The Maverick is a lower budget version of the Mossberg 500 pump shotgun. As bgreena mentioned pump shotguns are typically loose in the sliding forend to prevent binding when working the action. Does your shotgun have a single or dual slide rail in the action? You may be able to add some stick-on felt pads under the forend pump lever to dampen some of the sound but they will only be temporary as the oils and solvents will eventually loosen the glued backing and cause the pads to fall off.
