Just finished putting this Remington 870 together as a wild pig hunting companion for my 10mm Match. I sanded & painted the beat up plastic stock, installed a 7 round tube and a flashlight on it and cut the barrel to fit. Lastly I blued the action and barrel for a practically new look. I like the way it turned out.

The second shotgun is a circa 1950s bolt action Mosseberg. I refinished both steel and wood, sealing the later with tang oil. I bought it only because I liked the wood's grain and thought it deserved to be saved. Both have proven to be great shooters!

Looks good, both of them. One of my favorite activities is rescuing sick puppies. I've been lucky to find a number of cosmetically damaged, a few with mechanical problems, and bringing them back to decent looking, good functioning firearms. Lots of satisfaction there. Usually it's way cheaper than new usually cheaper than "pretty" used ones.
:thumbs up:

Nicely done.

Do you have a wild pig problem where you live? According to the Discovery channel they can double in population every 6 mo. So it would not take very long to have a problem.

Sounds like gcp will never run short of live targets. Those piggies must be pretty amorous.........

Thank you for your kind words guys! Practical is good, especially when one has to hunt pigs and other such critters that can put the hurt on ya. We do have a few wild ones in north Alabama but at my property at least we are not overrun, yet. I've only seen one thus far and it was killed by the neighbor's 2 pitt bulls.

Pigs do know how to party, they say that they have 45 min orgasms so yes, I guess they are ubber amorous :-)

Hard to believe isn't it? And yet it is a pig's reality.
