New (to me) shotgun

A good day yesterday. I was taking a short trip to look at a shotgun a friend had for sale. I didn't buy it re:chamber pitting. So stopped in at a pawn shop I had heard about on my way home, and found and bought a Model 94 Savage/Stevens 12 ga. Hammer type, 30in barrel, wood stock, Full choke.
It is in 95+% condition, excellent bore/chamber. All for $106.45 tax, license, and title. OTD.
While the gun itself isn't really a "class act", my personal first gun purchase when I was 12 yr old at the local hardware store was a Mdl. 94 12 ga. If I remember correctly I paid the princely sum of $12.50 for that one.
Anyway I was pleased and have been looking for one for several years, but most were junk wall hangers or otherwise trashed. Surprisingly, there just aren't many out there for sale, at least in my area, and it was, in its day, one of Savages most produced guns, and over a long period.
Just finding it made a good day.
(sometimes it doesn't take much to please an old fart)

The first gun I ever hunted with was a 12 ga Stevens single with a hammer. Ahhh

My first was a Stevens .410. I'm only 27. When did they stop selling Stevens Shotguns?

My first shotgun was a Steven's 20ga, full choke, hammer type. Don't recall the model number, but it was a Christmas gift in the 60's. Dating my self here :?

Sold it many years ago when I bought by Rem 1100, and Browning Citori.

Savage/Stevens mod. 94 was made from 1929 to about 1991 with frequent slight production changes over the years. The Stevens name was dropped in 1994 (I think)
Savage still makes shotguns, some with Stevens brand on them.
The Model 94 had well over 1 million produced
Savage still uses the Stevens name on some of their less expensive lines, and shotguns
