Saw in a LGS Saturday. Tagged as a 511P, peep sight was complete and stamped Lyman. I get some indication online that the original peep was Remington made, not Lyman, so this may not actually be a "P" model.
Bore looked good, blue was about 80%, no rust visible. Stock was good with minor nicks, except a large nick under where your right palm would be. Wood finish was 75-80%. Butt plate looked very good. Clerk said it was late Fifties, I didn't bother for him to check exactly.
After reading Rimfire Central postings about old classic rifles, it was tempting. This would have probably been a good shooter as is. I think it only had one mag, but I know they are available. How is availability of parts? $165 a good price?
I didn't buy, just wondering what kind of a deal it was. It may stay on the LGS rack a few days, though.
