Maybe useful for some people. There are other more compact "survival rifles" in .22. I think you could just about take the 10/22 action and use it with no stock, if you replaced the receiver pins with thru-screws and nuts.
I'll stick with my Sporter version.

Already have a take-down gun, an Interarms ATD clone, always did want one but the Browning's are too expensive, and this one is a good shooter. Already have 6 10/22's and don't see any new ones that interest me. Did trade off o couple of my Savages latey \a MarkIIGL and a 93R17GLV for a big and little brother pair of BTVSS's.

Got one. Haven't shot it yet. The takedown mechanism is pretty slick. The bag it comes with is nice, it currently houses a Henry USSR and a Marlin Papoose.
Need tech-sights, at least. Might want to throw some VQ parts in the action, at least do the BHO plate, as you need the bolt back to takedown or assemble, and fiddling that little nub annoys me.
That makes 3 takedown 22lr semiauto rifles, and 4 10/22 rifles. Seems like I've been buying more than shooting in 2012, I need to get some range time!

I haven't seen one around here, but I haven't been looking. I knew if someone bought one, they'd start doing the 10/22 mods. Good luck with shooting.

Seriously, I don't know, I have a Papoose and a HenryUSSR. Ruger has video of the mechanism in action and how to adjust it. I'd think you could compare using that, I can post pictures if the Ruger video and exploded diagram don't give you the info you need.
It is NOT like the AR7/US Survival rifle or the Marlin Papoose, for whatever that's worth.

Got to be very similar to the ATD and the clones. Not many other ways to mount a take off barrel solidly except for an interrupted thread setup, with an adjusting nut to maintain proper tension. Got my InterArms clone, it looks and shoots good, not a target gun but a fun shooter. Always wanted on, and a few years back my LGS had this one and some real ones. The clone was less costly and looked better, just a shooter, not out to impress anyone with it.

Looked at one at LGS the other day. It was kinda neat but not for me. It was cool though just push the release & the barrel is off just like that. It would be a lot easier to clean from the breech I suppose but I don't cleaning all that often & when I do it gives me a chance to look over all the inner parts & make sure everything is in good working order. Which it always is I mean it's a 10-22 right?
