Re: Remington 597?
Not yet, but may be getting one in the near future. Ma and Bear and I were off on a trip through the local countryside the other day on a basic fun road trip and stopped at a gun shop in a nearby tow that has been in the area for years also. They had one looked to be new for #50.00 marked down for sale, these have been out of manufacture for some time I believe? Might trade in Remona for a partial payment on her, always wanted a pump and now I have had one. The gun looks to be pretty much of a clone of the Ruger 10/22 race bun but the stock is ambidextrous, to fit this old south side shooter. I believe the Ruger race guns had a sheek piece and were rightKAZ wrote:Anyone here own one of these? Been stung by a Yellowjacket?
handed.Probably stop by next week and see how they will deal.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.
Well, my cyber spy network informed me that you were considering a YJ so I couldn't resist As to Remona, she was much nicer than her sister Ugly which I also sold off. In that rifle I love the Lever action which brings me to agreeing that a trade might be in order for the YJ. I only wish that it was on the rack at your Pals GS so that you could test drive it to assure that it is not a stinker. Does the GS that has it know anything about it? You already own a tack driver semi 10/22. Regards
This one didn't sell for $350 on Gun Broker just now

$587.00 MSRP on Remington website (above) It looks like they still have them.
They aslo have "tactical" version.
Pesonally I'm pretty tired of hearing the word 'Tactical'. Anything one uses from sticks and rocks to Nuclear rockets could be 'tactical' depending
on how it's used.
Just sayin'.

Paint it black and put a doohickey to attach something and it is "tactical"Medicine Hat wrote:http://www.remington.com/products/firea ... arrel.aspx.

That's an interesting concept. You mean you don't keep everyone you buy? Never quite thought of that.which I also sold off.

Seen them tactical guys at the range, Young guys20's or early 30's, baggy camo and boots, run around shouting commands like a REAL DI, got black guns and ,make a big production of laying out all their stuff on a table. Buy the time they get set up Bear and I are gone, we got all day every day to have fun.

Actually did try the camo once, but I set it down and have not been able to find it since.Sure worked good, I think?

Really do not expect it to, got to go to your 40X to get one to outshoot Mr "T" or Pretty Boy. If it shoots as good as Henry we will be satisfied. Expect it to do better than Moses or Nyla or Remona if she does not get traded.KAZ wrote:Well, with the excellent stable of 10/22 rifles that you possess the bar is set pretty high for that 597. What if it out shoots them
