I've always wanted one, decided to get one while their still made at the old factory. Need to scope it because my eyesight isn't good enough to use the irons.

Plinking at 50 yards.

A legend for certain, and it is a shooter. I believe that I can still see the smile on your face from your range time 8) I hear you about the need for optics as I'm in the same boat. Regards

I bought one years ago and found I could not even see the front sight until I removed the hood. With it removed, I absolutely LOVE the lil lever gun ;-)

It is one of the most accurate 22s I own, but still prefer the 10/22 for almost everything I do.

No scope for me either... these tired, old eyes just cannot use one.

If your shooting that good at 50 yrds just wait till you put a scope on it so you can see the target. :D For me the whole target would have been a blur and a shotgun pattern with open sites. She's a classic and a shooter, nice shooting.

Had one once and had to sell it when hard times hit. They are a fine shooting rifle for sure. Good luck with yours. :)

I so understand the 'hard times' bit. My TDS is one, of but a few, that has lasted through the hard times.
The "50 yard plinkin" targets are impressive! While the 39 is capable of fine accuracy, it was never meant to be in the same league as a Kimber/Cooper/CZ bolt action
08 C enjoy that 39 , it's a true American Icon.

Looks great. Congratulations.
A M39 is still on my wish list. I have a Henry that I really like, but it just isn't a Marlin.
Keep on chewing out the centers.!
