Springfield stevens model 87a scope mount?

Post by ss4goku » Sun Apr 25, 2010 11:22 pm

I recently aquired a springfield stevens model 87a, took the gun cleaned it up and shot it today, the gun is like a tack driver with open sights, my question is i would like to mount a scope but their are no mounting holes nor is it D/T for a mount, ill attach a couple pics to show the top and side so you can see what im talking about, any suggestions would be appreciated, if more pics are needed let me know. The receiver has room for the mount bases but you'll need a local smith to drill & tap it for you. Have you got a scope for it. The smith will need to know the dimensions for your Weaver mounts. They will be very small (approx, the size of your rings) and need to be placed on the receiver where they'll hold your scope best.
