Old Winchester 67A

Post by chadflys » Sun Sep 20, 2009 5:24 pm

Does anyone know the best way to remove the old iron sights on this old thing. Or should I take it to a gunsmith? I'm preparing to refinish and I'd like to put new sights on it after I get a nice blue finish on it. I think some target peeps would be cool. Its a youth model that was my dads first gun, then his brothers first, then my first, now its getting a makeover for my daughter. She's only two, so I have lots of time to get it right.

Thanks

Chad

They have to be drifted out of their dovetail slots. You'll have to clamp the action in a vise with adequate padding and then drift them out with a pin punch.
