What is the best and most economical trigger job for a 10/22 Ruger?

Also Bullseye, Do have a detailed disassembly/assembly site for the 10/22 trigger much like the site you referred me to for my Ruger 22/45 MK III pistol?

Not much help here either Ron, rarely take triggers apart as old eyes and old hands do not always do what they are supposed to. Have a local smith that does my 10/22 triggers, don't know what he does but they work fine and his price is reasonable.

A buddy of mine has a Volquartzen kit on his and he loves it. It's the kit you install instead of the whole assembly, about $100 if I remember correctly.

He had to file it a bit for the safety to work, there's a production tolerance and they go on the large size to ensure fitment. Scott Volquartzen offered to fit it for him no charge and told him exactly how to polish the sear down. Pretty good customer service actually.

Ok guys, thanks for the input. I found a guy on gunbroker.com who will do a trigger job for $25.00 plus $5.00 return shipping. I don't know if he installs any new parts, but he claims he can take a 7# trigger down to 2 to 2-1/2#'s. He says he has 12 years experience as a gun smith/armorer. I may give him a try.

There must be a real, live, someone you can talk to gunsmith in your are that can do the job. Have been dealing with mine, his son and his other smiths for over 50 years and they have never failed me.A local smith is useful for many other jobs also. Have a hard time myself dealing with a mail in smith.

go to http://ruger22.com for over 100 photos showing how to tear down, modify, rebuild etc.

To improve the hammer, you can stone it yourself, or if you are like most people and simply want a drop-in answer...all you need is an aftermarket hammer or hammer/sear kit. http://cheapgunparts.com is a good honest place for those parts.
