Mark II and Mark III grips

Post by bullbarrel » Sat Nov 12, 2005 10:39 pm

Would anyone happen to know if the Mark III grips will fit the Mark II without modification? Thanks to any and all who reply, Bull.

No modifications are necessary to install Mark III grip panels onto a Mark II.

Thanks for the answer I was hoping for Bullseye! I want to install a pair that I found in Ruger's catalog, the checkered cocobolo #90256 on an older Mark II I have. Thanks again for your help, Brad.

I haven't a clue why they take that position. But they say that a lot about compatible parts between these two models. I have swapped grips between both model pistols, back and forth, and they fit just fine after I cut a 3/8'' relief hole in the Mark II grips for the Mark III's magazine release screw. I didn't have to do a thing to put MKIII's onto the MarkII, just screw them in.
