clark hammer bushing and pin, MK II

Post by xtratoy » Sat Mar 17, 2007 7:06 pm

Is there any place to get a Clark hammer bushing and pin besides Clark? I don't mind paying the price ($15.50) ,but Clark wants $7.50 (half the cost of the item) for shipping an ounce of metal. Does any one else carry these?

I've only purchased them from Clark Custom.

xtratoy:

I installed a new Volquartsen sear and trigger last niight including a new Clark hammer bushing and sear pin in a 22/45 (MKII) .

I compared the old bushing/sear pin with the new ones and found that the new ones were quite a bit more snug fitting than the originals. For example, the original hammer bushing would fall out of the hammer when turned sideways. The new one needed to be tapped into the hammer and it was also a tigher fit on the hammer pin vs. the original. Makes sense to get the components all as snug as possible while doing a trigger job to take as much slack and extra movement out of the trigger system.

Was it worth the $20 for the Clark hammer bushing/sear pin? Yes!

Take the slack out of the pivot points and you lose the creep! :D

Price update... Although the Clark Hammer bushing & pin is $15 it appears from Clark's web site that the minimum parts order is $20 and the minimum shipping is $7.50 shipping. So, for a $15 item you end up paying $27.50 !!
2- #10 SS washers looks like a better idea.

Clark will usually wave the minimum if you ask.

I purchased from Clark a few years ago; payed the shipping on the first bushing set up, but months later ordered another and they waved the shipping. Nice people and great products.

I think Brownells carries the clark pin and bushing.
