After a decade in the south, that seems pretty frigid.

Better than zero or less, saw 35 minus in the UP while snowmobiling with my son in 81. Think it was mid Fed in his senior year at MTU
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

LGS called late yesterday to tell me my replacement LCR is in. I'll pick it up this AM and test it this afternoon. I hope this is a good one.

Seems to be. Fired ~100 rounds this afternoon and no leading. Accurate, too. Using bipod it will put all 8 rounds that I can cover with a quarter at 25'. I do have a problem with my CT grip (LG411). I bought it used and suspected it may have a problem, but with the first LCR, I got it close enough for its purpose, but with this new one, I can only get the vertical adjustment to about 3" of POI at 25'. I know there is a way to fix this, but I don't remember how it's done. The adjustment screw is out of time......someone screwed it too far.

Time to search for that answer. I found it in a forum somewhere, but don't remember where.

Great! It sounds like you've finally gotten the revolver in good working order. Now on to fixing the laser.

Very glad you have good news at last.

I Googled several possibilities over several pages and couldn't find anything about resetting Crimson Trace except in their owner's manual, on page 5. It tells how to reset the screws and the sight spring, if that helps. If you don't have the manual but can do PDFs on your computer, it's here:

You can call 'em at (800) 442 - 2406

I'm calling today. I've tried the manual technique and the video on their website didn't work either.

Ruger sent me the old front sight back. The one I had put orange epoxy on AND they also sent an XS front sight. Both loose in an envelope. The XS sight is intriguing, but is also higher. Might try it anyway.

On the Ruger Store site, they advise that the XS sight will shoot five inches low.

With all the trouble you have had, you could write a lengthy book on the troubles you have encountered.

I could, but I doubt anyone would read it.

Checking on CT laser grip adjustment problems, I found a video that shows how the inners are constructed. Knowing this, I backed off the elevation screw and tapped on the laser housing....no good. Then I took a leather mallet and gave the underside of the laser mallet a good sharp rap. Still nothing. Gave it several more and danged if the red spot didn't move down some. Gave it several more and down it came some more. I just kept at it until I got the spot down below the POI. Tomorrow, I can begin shooting and adjusting (raising the laser spot) until it is on target. I know it's still not right. The elevation adjustment should be free to move, but once it's on, it should never need further adjusting.

I've emailed CT with and explanation of my problem. Maybe they will fix it. They're just a couple of hours drive from me and they have drop-in service.

Doesn't CT give a lifetime warranty on their products?

It's a three year warranty and this grip is dated Feb. 12, so is only a fw months old.

I just received a reply to my email telling me to call for an RMA #. I guess I
ll send it back so it will be right.

Still waiting for the CT grip to be fixed/replaced. Nothing yet.

Several hundred rounds of mixed ammo through the new LCR 22 and it is a keeper. No leading. The smut wipes right off and it shines like new. Still shoots low (like the older one did) if I use the sight picture in the manual, but perfect if I take in the full front sight (top of front sight about 1/16" above the top of the rear) and cover the bull. This isn't hard to do, but is different than what I've been taught. My eyes don't focus well enough on the sights with glasses on. Arms length is "no mans land" with my glasses on. The CT grips will be the sighting system of choice as it is with the SR22 and the SP101.

CT are great for use with aging eyes. I can see the front sight though fuzzy with my normal glasses on. So I just point shoot which is all your doing on close range, 3yrds. At 7 you start using the rear sight too, so I just point shoot. I do train with my CT at least 1 mag/trip.

Glad to hear the new gun is a keeper. It's nothing more frustrating than having a gun that has a problem. Glad to hear the finish is right on this one. Don't know what to tell you on the front sight. I do not like changing sight pictures from the normal. For under a stressful condition you will go back to the normal sight picture. Does Ruger have a fix for the front sight?
