S&W Model 41 Update

Post by jstanfield103 » Sat Dec 10, 2011 1:34 pm

As many of you have probably reaad my posts, about my 41 having FTE issues. I took Bullseye's advice and used the 22 LR Match Reamer. Here are the results.

I just went to the range again today (11/10/11) and had a great time. Another 150 rounds through the gun today and not a single FTE. That is 350 rounds total with out a failure to Eject after the reamer was used. And for the people that think it would hurt accuracy here is a couple Pictures of a Target the Gun and the rest that I made. I would have one ragged hole but I have to work on my Breathing and trigger squeeze a little more. This gun is so fun to shoot and so accurate I believe I could pick a fly off the paper.
I was firing at 25 yards, 10 rounds ( I will have to build a little longer range) with a 2-7x32 Hi-Lux LER Scope. Using CCI SV. I had a Bushnell scope on it but the eye relief was to far for my short arms. Here the Pictures.

I am not bragging by any means, I just have really fallen in Love with this gun after the reaming job. It worked great!

Thanks Again Bullseye. You and this site are a huge help!

I would never have recommended a remedy that would be a detriment to the accuracy of your pistol. I am glad to hear that you've grown fond of your pistol that previously heaped a pile of frustration your way.

Nice shooting...

Glad to hear it's running like a well oiled machine now.

That is a nice 25 yard group . Guns are much more fun when they work properly. I love my Ruger .22, but a while back when I was having some problems with this gun, it was frustrating. When a gun shoots accurately and reliably, it's a lot more fun.
