What .22 ammo does your Ruger like best?
I shoot the bulk federal in mine, but I thought I would try another brand.

I like the Federal bulk HP (from Wally World or elsewhere, all the same) or CCI Mini-Mag HP for all my guns. The Mark III also does good with Federal plain round nose. It has done the worst with Remington Golden Bullet and Winchester Wildcat, and I don't buy those anymore.

Mine eats Fed550 cheap bulk happily, and I would be extremely annoyed if I had a gun that did NOT eat fed550. This is not to say I don't see the occasional dud or mangled round, but fed550 seems to be the best commonly available ammo for the money.
When I actually care about good performance, I feed it CCI, generally minimags, sometimes SV, rarely Stingers/SGB/Velicotors
... Excursions into the Remington family have met with disaster (other than CBees, they're quiet and fun) and Winchester has been hit-or-miss, although I'll take Win555 if I can't find fed550, and there are OK Win 100-packs out there in boxes like CCI minimags come in, I just like CCI better and I never see only Win on the shelf.

Ahmen on the Remingtons. I've had nothing but problems with tbem for the last couple of years. Way too many fail to fires. Probablly about 10%. I've even taken some of the fails and tried them in other guns but had the same issues. I have about a dozen or so different 22s and remington is the same in all of them.bgreenea3 wrote:my mkii loves eley sport but mostly gets a deit of fed bulk or win bulk no remies for me I've only had bad experiences with them

My Ruger likes almost anything, but I really like the CCI Blazer. It is cheap and shoots as good as a lot of match ammo through my gun. I also have had bad luck with Remington rimfire ammo. I use CCI Standard Velocity during matches, but am considering using the Blazer once all the Standard Velocity is gone, it's much cheaper, and seems to shoot as well.

had a bad run with Blazer ... but I'm pretty sure I got ripped off and sold a brick that had been wetted. So the amazing thing is that it ran at all, I suppose.piasashooter wrote:My Ruger likes almost anything, but I really like the CCI Blazer.
