techteach molded 22/45 no gunsmithing grip panels

I am interested in these and saw several posts in the past about them...Where can I buy a pair and how hard are they to install on my 22/45? I have a 22/45 that has the non removable grip panels and would like alittle thicker grip.

I've seen them and think they are made by a guy over on RFC. As for modding yours I got a friend with a mill to flatten the existing grip (careful of the insignia it's metal) and then drilled AND tapped it for a pair of 1911 bushings and added some 1911 grips I got from ebay grips .

I have these on my 22/45. They're easy to mount using either screws (drilling instructions included) or double sided automotive tape. TechTeach on the RFC forum makes them. Here's a link to the YouTube video he posted: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRkiSlXdrKM

I bought a pair of Notaro's 22/45 grips about 2 months ago. He offers both a hard and "soft" option. I went with the softer grips and am happy with them so far. They aren't too soft and have a nice feel to them. As advertised, they were pretty easy to install. Just watch the youtube video CharlieBee referenced before you start. It does require drilling two holes into each side of the frame. While it would have been nice to have the option of modifying the frame to accept standard 1911 grips, I don't have access to milling equipment and wasn't sure I wanted to modify that far anyway. I figured the Notaro grips were fairly cheap and I could always go the 1911 route later if I wanted.

I've had Dominics grips on one of my 22/45 and they are really nice, plus the matching magazine pads really make it easier and look nice.

For my other 22/45 with the Pac-Lite upper (which I now have up for sale on GB) I had a member of RFC (Kingshouse) mill the grips frame for me so any 1911 grip can be used. His service was fast and professional. The total cost is $40.00 which included him shipping it back to via priority mail.

I recommend both.

Nice grips, jerry. Welcome to the forum. Dom's grips on my MKIII 22/45 took me out of the market for the RP.
