Model 41 Sights

Post by Anchor » Mon Feb 15, 2010 10:52 am

Recently purchased a Model 41, Have read almost everything on the forums concerning 41's. Lots of great info. I have ordered a buffer and have quite a bit of CCI SV on hand. Haven't been to range yet but as soon as buffer is in will quit admiring the 41 and do some shooting. Plan to stick with iron sights for awhile. Would like to do someting to front blade to give some contrast with rear sight. Any ideas? Thanks.

Front sight

On my mark 3 I have a piece of self adhesive label material (white) on the front sight. I then used a Flourescent Marker (hot pink) and colored it in.
It has a nice contrast with the rear sight, black target and white range wall.
If you find it does not work for you, peel it off.

Some inexpensive ladies fingernail polish works well too. There's plenty of vibrant colors to choose. The finish is durable and will resist most solvents. To remove use some polish remover or acetone.

Testors Modeling Paint in Neon Blaze Orange with a final coat of ladies clear coat nail polish to completely seal it. Neon Green works good as well.
