Re: new machine
I have my Grat Eight which can probably shoot as good or better than one of them and besides that to me they ain't really a pistol nor a rifle either. Hak, you are a bad man and it is all your fault. While looking at 19111's for you I spotted a Henry H001 carbine in the rack and it looked good and besides I have been wanting one of those since fall, So told Doug to set it in back and will be by later in the week with my checkbook and pick it up.Hakaman wrote:Wow, has anybody got one of these babies??? If I do my part well this one has shot some 1/4 and less groups at 25 yards.Dwight45 wrote:I'm tempted to buy one for long range plinking at the outdoor range. Check out Ruger's video of the Charger in use. They do look like a blast.

Sunny and 77 degrees in "Northern parts" of Detroit tomorrow.

Bring your charger on, my Great Eight is a real shooter, although it may be a little underscoped.

you're 'sposed to measure the "25 yards" from the muzzle, bearandoldman wrote:this one has shot some 1/4 and less groups at 25 yards.
Great-Ate
or Scope-Objective-Lens in your case... Not the trigger...
also, I was wondering ... How do you transport your "shooting bench"
to the range... ? Looks like a good sawdust-maker...

Old 9 inch Delta Contractor saw with the Uinfence a guy gave me from his Delta Unisaw wihen he put a Biyssmeier on i. Yes it will make sawdust ell. Fence has the extension bars on it an will rip past 48 inches, has a table between the rails and makes a good second workbench, but it does not go to the renge.toyfj40 wrote:you're 'sposed to measure the "25 yards" from the muzzle, bearandoldman wrote:this one has shot some 1/4 and less groups at 25 yards.

Forgot you had one of those Rob, other than being blued it is the same gun, My taste runs to blued guns. Guess I am just old school on guns they should be blued and have wood grips. The only reason I shoot he 22'45's is because of the grip angle being the same as the 1911. Well, I should pick up my Henry on the way to the range tomorrow as it is supposed top be 60 degrees.

I think I'd rather have a blued SA with wood grips than the stainless. Seem to have been buying those. I don't like the new rubber grips on the centerfires. My .45 BH came with those and I swapped them for the wood grips on my single six. Guess I'll get a round tuit and order a set of rosewood grips one of these days.
The Henry ought to be a lot of fun.

Looking forward to picking it up and heading for the range in the morning. Just about 6:00AM here and my remote temp sender says 53 already, should be a great day. Doug at the gun shop I took you to will have Mr Henry cleaned, lubed and ready to shoot when I get there.greener wrote:I think I'd rather have a blued SA with wood grips than the stainless. Know where you are coming from on those grips, the only thing I don't care for om my 50th Anny Blackhawk in .357 is those ugly black plastic grips..Mybe next time I get a roun tuit I will do the same.
