Nice thing about reloading is you don't have to worry about those pesky ammo recalls. Just go out and field test the load. If the gun doesn't come apart, it must be ok, right?

A couple-three years ago I was reloading .38 special (158gr lswc) with Bullseye and did a "what the heck" and reloaded 50 rounds with Unique using the Bullseye setup. I'm not sure what the MV was because it was not on any chart I could find. The Blackhawk and GP100 sounded and felt like .22's with this load. All bullets hit the target. Wasn't all that good for accuracy.

I try not to have any field issues, but it seems that every reloader has a story
to tell. I was loading 38 sp's and usually loaded them lightly for target shooting.
Well, I must of doubled up on one load and shot it through my smith 357. It rattled
the rafters at the range but my gun was ok. I have since amended my
reloading technique, I always "triple" check my load levels in the trays before
proceeding. I promised myself never to let that happen again.

Another thing that was nice when the gun industry went nuts after the 2008 election, I was still able to shoot as I normal did. The range had fewer shooting, except the ones that were reloading. I don't know what kind of inventory you keep on supplies, but I would recommend having around 1 yr. This will allow you to buy when prices are low and not have to worry about the shortage so you can ride it out.

Most Magnum guns are built heavy to take a steady diet of heavy loads.

Recently, I have stocked up on bullets, brass, and primers. Next I am going to check my inventory on powder. The reason is twofold. First, politics looks like it will influence things again, and secondly, I plan on retiring this year.
