Out of production guns

Post by ruger22 » Fri Dec 31, 2010 7:48 pm

Now that we are going into a new year, I thought about old guns; guns that are no longer made that I would like brought back so I could buy new ones. I know of four, and they aren't that old.

1. Walther PPK stainless in .22 LR. Interarms made them, but I guess S&W didn't care to continue that caliber.

2. Ruger SP-101 stainless in .22LR. Even better for me if they revived it with traditional two piece grip panels. I do not like the post grip frame on this or the GP-100.

3. Ruger Security-Six stainless .357. I had one, great gun. Or, make the admittedly better GP-100 without the above mentioned post grip frame, which I think ruins it.

4. S&W 639, a stainless 9mm. A nickel 39 was the only 9mm I ever owned, and the best one I've shot. I think that and the 659 (15 round version, 39 models held 8 ) are as good and often better than current nines. None of that cheapo polymer.
* 2 Ruger Bearcat stainless, w/ EWK ejector housings & Wolff springs
* Ruger SP-101 .22LR, w/ Wolff springs
* 2 NAA Guardian .32ACP
* 3 Zastava M70 .32ACP
* S&W 15-22 Sport (.22LR AR)
* 2 Ruger SR22 .22LR pistols

I'd like to run across an SP101 in .22 LR. Might find some reason to buy it.

My guess is they came up with new and better ideas and that the market for these discontinued models didn't justify continued production.

I would like to find a camp .45 at a reasonable cost.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

Had to look it up. Nice looking carbine.

If I had one I'd sell it to you at a reasonable price, though our definitions might be somewhat different. :lol:

Saw one on gunbroker, LNIB shot 10 times to check function. $755.00 with 5 bids and 10 days to go.
