Night Vision Equipment

Post by Downeaster » Wed Dec 08, 2010 11:14 am

Anybody here have it?

I'm looking into it. Surfing so far indicates that my price range will put me into Generation 1 equipment (around $200 is my max).

I'm thinking more binocular/monocular than scopes.

Any experience, recommendations or sources appreciated.

Bushnell and Yukon optics are the ones I've used and both are good... I've heard good things about ATN.

Thanks. That's the second referral to Bushnell I've seen. Lot of ATN stuff out there too.

I've been looking at this stuff too. It seems the Eastern European stuff is widely available but I haven't seen any "credible" reviews. ATN appears to have a good reputation. My problem is I was spoiled with Gen II military stuff. Please let us know what you find

About 20 yrs ago I use to own a monocular from "Night Owl", similar to this:

that I liked and thought was a good price ($200) for a decent piece.
I did sell them because I didn't use them much. I ran across another
NV binocular that I currently have, from Tasco, I don't like them much at all.
I would recommend the Night Owls though.

Problem solved, gents. Discovered that my daughter's boyfriend has a Milspec unit he's willing to let me borrow.

I knew I liked that guy... :D

Another product you might look into as well is laser genetics. I've been strongly considering a few of their products.
