Just using the computer and FOX news is on the TV, and hear about a hostage situation yesterday in Wisconsin. Newsman said the young man was holding the high school class and had fired one shot but no one paid any attention until after the teacher did not show after school ended, boy really paying attention and the young man had two guns, a 22 mm and a 9mm, now that is some firepower. I think the guy misread .22?

I think the average non-gun person wouldn't know a .22 from a howitzer. Look at some of the idiot specifications and reasoning in some gun laws.
Some quick math shows 22mm to be about .85 caliber. That would be some serious firepower........
I like the "Loquacious Olde Pharte' tag. Very classy!

Bullseye came up with that and I think it fits. We have been in touch with each other for a lot of years now.
I normally carry a J frame in the warm weather and a 1911 Micro in the cold as it conceals better with a long jacket on, but where would I hide a 22mm handgun?

That's for OC only,
B&OM. Who would mess with you if you had such a thing openly displayed?
A quick search confirms my suspicion,
22mm is the size of grenade my SKS is theoretically designed to launch:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/22_mm_grenade
Apparently it is the standard rifle-launched grenade of NATO, and the size has been in use since the 1903 Springfield was in service.

As far as the news getting it right, I'm amazed if they have even a slight hint at what hardware was used, and in this case the fat that nobody investigated a single gunshot is pretty plausible. It takes multiple shots to be identified as "gunfire" most of the time, a single shot will be written off and assumed to be something else most of the time.

I want one, only hope that I am man enough to shoot it without falling over backwards.
Being an old guy, I can remember when the military took those 20mm Gatling type guns from a fighter aircraft and mounted them in the cargo door of a C-47 . Put it in a bank and rake the ground, it may have been Korea or mabe not until Viet Nam?

Looks a little large for a carry gun, maybe have it mounted on the hood of my Montero. Then I could drive around any town and just use it to shoot HOODlums?

I would sure hate to be shot with a 22MM. That might smart to the shooter and shootee.

I'd like a couple in the back of my car, to deter tailgaters. Just seeing the muzzles might make a few back off........

the closest reasonable choice would be a 10 gauge.....although a 8 bore would be much closer to 22mm

Rechamber a Judge in 8 bore and you'd have the Supreme Court?
I remember reading about some guy in Maryland who was caught with assault revolvers. The article said you could tell by the names: Python, Anaconda, King Cobra...

here is another option...... I'm sure you could make one of these in 8 bore. and it probably has already been done!

Better than the 8 bore and Glock?

Shoots through 1' walls and then explodes.

I like the xm25 but way to much electronics to go haywire for me.... the 20 mm explosive shell would be cool though.
