welcome to the forum. uh... I don't know your circumstances... (and don't need to know), BUT you may want to get some alternate advice on recording a firearm S/N in such paperwork... "just give it to them" and keep quiet. you are kinda-sorta giving a "Voluntary FireArm Registration" for your benefic...
