Ammo cost
I just got back from Gander Mountain where I purchased 500 rds Federal Spitfire (31-grain, CPHP, 1425 fps) for $35 . 150 rds Federal American Eagle Ammunition 38 Special 158 Grain LRN for $20 x 3= $60 . But they were out of 9mm, again. So I thought I would give it a try and stop at "Dick's sporting ...

Hak, you are a bad man and it is all your fault. While looking at 19111's for you I spotted a Henry H001 carbine OM, I'll take full blame, nothing better to shake off the winter blues then buying a new toy. Sunny and 77 degrees in "Northern parts" of Detroit tomorrow. Haka http://www.henryrepeating...

Pistol permit? You'll have to explain that. Us folks in VA just go buy one. And VA has a better Brady rating than Michigan, go figure. Feel for ya my friend, no new snow here just damn cold, don't think it made it over 20 here today. That storm is about your average yearly snowfall isn't it. Got no...

Things I did today, and my thoughts of them. 1) got a purchase permit at the police station today (went smooth) 2) stopped at gander mountain to check out what they had in stock (limited guns in stock) 3) asked what shelf the 9mm ammo was on, and they just laughed at the question because they were a...

Cost of Ammo
I wonder what the cost of ammo is doing to people's purchase decisions? So, the question is just that:
Does the cost of ammunition dictate the caliber of gun you buy?

Quit looking and just go out and buy one, you will enjoy it. Clear, sunny and 77 degrees here in my living room, outdoors is a little cooler, like 57 degrees cooler. I think I might just do that OM, just go out and get what I want and stop fiddling around. I have been know to buy on the "spur of th...

Then after you placed your order they changed your delivery to 90 days. I don't believe them even at that because when I tried to buy my first one the dealers didn't have inventory, but all wanted me to place the order. Of course, you may be lucky and get the one that you have on order. I hope that ...

I am back from the range today, and I think I got my money's worth in terms of shots fired. At the club I can stay as long as I want for just $8.00. Well, 4 hours later, and 100rd of 9mm(I still stink with my Beretta), 50 rds of 38sp(sweet shooting S&W 686), and 300rds of 22lr thru my Ruger Mark lll...

Gun Safe
I was wondering what kind of gun safe to buy. I suspect I will have 5 long rifles(at the most), and maybe 10 handguns before the buying bug subsides. I would like to keep some personal things in the safe as well, like papers, will, insurance documents, etc. I was looking at the Centurion 17, 20. Cou...

Watch for Midway to put the mags ($22) on sale I see that Midway has them on order, for $21.99 as I write. I just found out that the gun I ordered is on back order, for what could be up to 90 days or more. :crazy eyes: They said I could cancel the order if I want to. I told them I would think about...

Comes with one magazine. An extra mag is about $30 I didn't even realize, I just figured it came with two. I have heard a lot of good things about them, but I just wanted another 22lr pistol because that will be the bulk of my shooting. It's hard to beat the economics of a 22. I also wanted the lit...

Not a great deal of experience here, but, I have a Ruger Mark lll Hunter. It shoots with great reliability, and it's accuracy is beyond me. The "only" bad about the Ruger, (if it's a bad at all?), is the tear down and full cleaning. Even a good cleaning is very simple though, because I think it is u...
