When was the last time you changed the battery? A low battery will cause it too.

I switched to a mac over a decade ago. Got tired on working on my own computers. Doing tech support on PC's is a endless job. They always seam to have something wrong, virus, adware, crashes etc....... With all of the service going on it's well documented that a Mac takes <10% of the time to maintai...

Most of the CCL courses I've taken is 90% legal stuff..... Which every one should know. Some states you apply and they just send it to you. Does not mean you could hit the broad side of barn though.

Most hammers are carbon steel not SS. The finish is probably just blue. SS can be blackened using special bluing salts. CS hammers will not rust very easily due to it's high Manganese content.

As far as removing it, I don't know if it's SS. Should wear the same as a CS.

It wont take as long as you think to get use to. The biggest mistake I see when newbie's shoot my guns with the dot sights is that they point the muzzle up to high and don't find the dot. I just tell them to start rotating the muzzle down and it will show up. I've had so many after shooting with a d...

A friend of mine had a 4" 44 mag that was ported from the factory, not S&W. I don't know of who's design it was. But the porting made the gun manageable to handle and did not want to break your wrist every time you fired it.

Sounds like yours will be real nice to shoot.

The trick on dot sights is concentrate on the target not the dot..... The dot will magically appear. Trying to focus on the dot will only give you eye strain.

Sorry to hear your still having problems. So this was a slotted head set screw. Wonder if it's been replace since mine are allen head. I'm not sure you have got it hot enough to break the Loctite down. Normally once you break it down the come out very easy. You have to keep heat on them till they st...

Depending on which loctite was used it may need to get near 450F to have it let loose. Use a soldering iron on the screw till you see smoke. Once you see the smoke it hot enough to break the loctite down. As far as tightening the sight to the dovetail slot. Do what BE suggested, if a super loose you...

You may need to add an humidifier to your house and shop. At the least add a water source to you safe to raise the humidity.

I use to live in Garland yeas ago, and no the area. They have been keeping every thing tight lip which they should, not tipping the hand on there tactics. Unlike the (loose) nut at the top we currently have leading this country. I have not heard of what distance the shots were made from or what cali...

You actually put a pilot in the drill to hold the tap/handle vertical on a center. Most have a center cut in them. You still turn the tap by hand, so you have the feel. You just keep enough pressure on the center to keep it straight. This eliminates the chance of breaking the tap due to alignment.

Glad you had success. Working with SS can be a challenge. It also helps to use a good cutting oil and new high quality taps. I like using a drill press/end mill to drill and hold the tap position while tapping. Before moving over to the next position. Working with small fine thread taps, they break ...
