Re: Expanded my work shop with some new equipment
This knee bend mill sure beats the tabletop model I had when I built my 1911. I'm planning on making a few more, now that I have some good equipment. I'm also getting into turning rifle blanks and building them out.

Expanded my work shop with some new equipment
I added some new equipment to my shop this last month. Now I get to build me some new toys. :D http://i1242.photobucket.com/albums/gg538/Blue68F100/Shop/IMG_0794.jpg and a Lathe to go alone with the mill. http://i1242.photobucket.com/albums/gg538/Blue68F100/Shop/IMG_0792.jpg Still working on getting...

Re: MARKII jamming
May want to look at your magazines. There is a mod to make the bullet release earlier, preventing jams. The mod is a simple rounding of the ears.

Re: Laser sights?
I have laser sights (grips) on my carry gun. Yes it does/will give your position away but it may also be a good deterrent for the other guy. Mine are the grips, replaced the std grips. With these they activate when you grip the gun. I've looked at the others and did not like the bulkiness, interfere...

Re: 44 special in Magnum cases
Yes you can. I do it all the time with 357mag/38spl. Normally you take the SPL load, and add 0.1- 0.2 gr more of powder to make up for the larger case. If you have a crony you want to keep them above 700 fps and you will just fine.

Re: The new Ruger Mark IV Target and Hunter
CNC receiver I would think cost more to build than the stamped ones. Will have to see what the street values ends up at.
So they finally listened to the one having problem taking them apart for cleaning.
Still with 22 ammo available but scattered, limited supply.

Re: Hearing Protection?
There are a few headset type hearing protectors on the market now that allow normal conversation, but protect against firearm noise without resorting to electronics. I've seen them in the stores, but so far have not talked myself into trying them. I think your referring to Sonic Valve type plugs. M...

Re: Hearing Protection?
The last pair I bought was the Pro Ears Gold. These work great but are very expensive, $300. They have the highest DNR rating of 33 on the market. They work a little different than most since they start clamping any noise above 70b. Where most all others start at 82-84 which is too high according to...

I know of several who shoot reloads through their Glocks factory barrel with no problems. One even shoots lead. He found out you can shoot a hard cast and coated with out any problems.

Re: Brought Low by Loose Scope Mounts
Loose optics will drive you nuts, trying to get good groups. I had a neighbor over a month ago shooting his Colt SP1 and stopped for lunch. Turned off his dot sight. We we started back in his groups had moved over 2". This old AR has 1 screw that hold the mount in place. The mount he had fit loosely...

Re: Bullet Weight!
Charles, I'm discovering that these light bullets are very pressure sensitive with the powder I'm using. Ran into a gas block problem and ended changing it out due to leakage around the adj screw. I run into the same thing but traced it back to a case volume slightly different. Ran the volume test o...
