Snowbound project: V trigger clean-up

Installed a dual adjustable Volquartsen trigger, V sear, and Clark bushing in a 22/45 quite some time ago. Very happy except for a "crunchy" feeling as my finger pulls through the slight pretravel portion of the trigger movement. However, in competition I never notice it so I put off the project unt...

Roger! Thanks Bullseye. I'm into function before beauty. However, I do notice a slower cycling as the temperature drops toward 40f and below especially using bulk Remmington. I shoot CCI Mini-Mags exclusively in colder weather during our local competitions to ensure ignition & cycling. After cleanin...

Ruger Rimfire Bolt Polishing

I continue to read about polishing the bolts of Ruger 10/22s but not any info as to the bolts of Ruger 22/45 & MK handguns. The question is this: does the polishing of the 10/22 bolt and/or the handgun bolt truly help in the cycling of the guns to ensure reliability, or is it just one of the last th...

Thank you for your replies. Notes: (1) Bought all Volquartsen parts over the past years from Rimfire Sports to support a fellow Virginian. No mention of bargain parts. (2) Because I'm an avid reader of this Forum, I backed out the pre & overtravel screws when I discovered the "light strike" problem....

22_plinker: Good job! This Forum has helped all of us enjoy our plinkers. Now to a slightly different problem. I installed a V sear and adj trigger plus the Clark hammer bushing and pin in my MKII. Trigger felt simply amazing with no perceptable movement of internal parts. However, I immediately beg...

Matt_S: I'm a long time fan of the S&W 3rd Generation guns including the 6906. All of the guns that I've owned and/or shot have never had the failures that you are describing. Since it's a used gun, the first thing that I would do after a thorough cleaning and lube would be to replace the recoil spr...

xtratoy: I installed a new Volquartsen sear and trigger last niight including a new Clark hammer bushing and sear pin in a 22/45 (MKII) . I compared the old bushing/sear pin with the new ones and found that the new ones were quite a bit more snug fitting than the originals. For example, the original...
