Need Bushing/Shim for EMF .45 Colt SAA
J Miller wrote: I didn't suggest changing loadings. I mearly commented that HP-38 and Win 231 is the same powder just sold under different names by two different companies. And compared the load data from each. After comparing the data I stated: (And I quote myself here) "So your load is below stand...

Re: Bushing/Shim of SAA Cylinder
Bullseye wrote Allen, I don't disagree with any of the information you've posted. I may have used slightly different terms, but we were essentially talking about the same things, problemwise. Your revolver experience likely greater than mine. However, Brownells has Colt SAA cylinder Endshake bearings...

To J Miller & Bullseye Thanks so much for the replies, I always appreciate feedback. However, I think I want to stick with my HP-38 loading, but not at 6.5 gr. for now. I will up my load 1/10th of a grain to see what happens. At the same time, I've learned that, for whatever reasons, ALL loading man...

Dear toyfj40 I don't know what to make of some of your acronyms and abbreviations, so forgive me. I'm an old man. Perhaps, too, I didn't keep up with this thread as I should have before posting. I don't care for those NAA "belt-buckle" revolvers at all. Tried a couple I saw others at the range with....

Need Bushing/Shim for EMF .45 Colt SAA
I have a really nice .45 Colt SAA clone made by Armi San Marco (Italy) that I bought a couple of years ago for an obscenely low price that was next-to-new. My cylinder has about 0.0015"-0.002" end shake I'd like to remove and need to know where I can find a bushing/shim whatever just to tighten this...

Forgot something... I don't know if this "new" Charter Arms company remained truly faithful to their older designs, but the "old" Charters used to boast of having firing pins made of beryllium copper alloy, which made them nearly indestructable. And after more closely analyzing the picture that was ...

I have one of these I bought back in the mid-1970s, but mine is in blue steel, has adjustable sights and a 3" barrel. I received it as a gift when I was about 16 or so and I shot the daylights out of it. What made mine so unusual is that I had a spare cylinder that fired the .22 Mag., but have never...

"Loose" Mark II
Swoter I don't see a problem. The complaint I see from everyone (and one I have myself) is that the darned things are way too tight brand new out-of-the-box, and it takes a lot of usage and disassembly/reassembly to get them to loosen up to the point they aren't such a pain-in-the-butt. If your rece...

I, too, think Bullseye should get some kind of award for his diplomacy. However, I've finally had my hands all over my 12th Ruger Mark III, and I wouldn't own one of those guns if it was free. I'm not diplomatic, so I'll just say that I believe that Ruger has gone completely off the reservation with...

jaeger45: I haven't used Bullseye for years, but when I did, I found it was a very CLEAN burning powder, but it burns so fast, I always limited myself in what I load with it. I like to load my 9mm and .45 ACP ammo with powder that is dense enough to fill the case yet give me the most economy -- the ...

Toy I suppose I let your point whistle right over my head, but it wouldn't be the first time I've been guilty of being a little dense or letting something go in one ear and out the other. It's just that over the years, I've seen more people than I care to count trying to teach someone else how to sh...

GI 45 / Mil-spec
I like Springfield guns, I really do. But I've come to hate that company with a passion. 20-25 years ago you could buy a basic 1911 "Mil spec" for $249. Another $50 bought better sights. The finish on both guns was better than mil-spec, but not nearly as nice as what you would get with a Colt Mk IV....

toyfj40 mentions getting "jams" if the shooting elbow is not ridgidly locked. Hmmm . . . I beg to differ. I shoot (mostly) right-handed, but NEVER EVER EVER EVER lock EITHER of my elbows. While I shoot right-handed, I'm left-eye dominant. I keep both elbows bent I cock my head a bit to the right in ...

Wolf Ammo/CCI Blazers
I thought I'd amend my previous post. I came into several hundred rounds of CCI's Blazer ammo to settle an old debt someone owed me. I didn't like the Blazer stuff at all. It wasn't accurate at all from any handgun I used it in. Besides that, I recovered a bunch of the empties just out of curiosity,...

Wolf Ammo
I know a lot of people who shoot it, and everyone either hates the stuff or loves it -- except me. I'm ambivalent about it. I handload all of my ammo, but have a couple thousand rounds of the stuff around for both the 9mm and the .45 ACP. It's not the cleanest burning ammo in town. It reminds me of ...
