Zilla, basically, I want a good shooting, good looking 1911 to advance my shooting skills to a point where I can control a hg safely, accurately, and enjoyable. Although it must be of great personal reward, I do not think I want to get into serious competition. I want to be content with my limited s...

Chad, I have a "Matchdot" by Ultradot. It's a lot of fun. For target shooting, it works well. The dots are adjustable in size and brightness. Great quality for the price. Take a look at the photo. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y151/bwanatom/Alaskan%20Northern%20Lights%202005/RugerMklllHunterwithM...

Low Centre Placement Possible Causes 1. Poor concentration. 2. Poor follow through, lowering gun before the shot is away. 3. Poor sight alignment Greener, I think I am guilty of #'s 1 & 2. No.3 is not as likely. I know when I concentrate on the front sight, and "follow thru", things work out well. I...

Hakaman, I like your new avatar!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OM, Righty O. It is fairly common to have some style pistols that you shoot better than others. Beretta's have a trigger system that not everyone can get used to or shoot accurately. Glocks can fall into the same category. That's interesting, because I ...

I think it's time to introduce my shooting skills, or lack of them (ahem). The first photo is 35rds, at 7yds from my Beretta M9 9mm. I have just started to come around with this hg. If I had taken my time a little bit, I could probably tighten the group up a little. I think I'm flinching some becaus...

O>P,
back when I was a young ws'r, a buddy and I traveled to the UP camping, and hiked from Mirror Lake to Lake of the Clouds. I noticed them in your profile.

I'm in, I ordered the VQ MKIII 22/45 kit a few minutes ago. Can't wait.
Hey Curm, I just installed one in mind, but haven't shot it yet. Wow, the trigger does seem highly tuned when you get done though. I'll try and shoot this weekend though.

Now understanding the funtionality of the sear spring, I no longer have to put a bend in it. Like you stated, it has positive force towards the frame pin. Oh well, live and learn.

I'd probably go with the Ruger for a couple of reasons. First, I like the longer barrel of my Hunter version (6 7/8'') as opposed to the 5" barrel of the Kimber. Second, it is about $300 cheaper. The main drawback to the Ruger is the field stripping, but even that is not so bad if you just do the ba...

... WITH-OUT the pistol screwed onto it... !!! Ya know toy, I never try to discard common sense, no matter how obvious it sounds. I wonder how many "stupid" things people do with their guns that they are embarrassed to talk about??? Maybe this could be the start of a new thread. "Dare to tell the m...

May years ago when I was a young man and turned 21 and old enough to buy a handgun. January of 1954. this in one of those days where I feel like a man my age and that is not good.

Maybe you need a shot of the "Lynchburg Lightening" you were talking about?
Interesting gun though.
