Must be in the Midwest where I am. Last time, I saw a good price on a Swedish Mauser but I think SWMBO would have objected (and I already have one) so I walked by (very slowly). They can be a little more flexible on prices but they also tend to mark things up. I checked a couple of prices for a hols...

If you are punching holes in paper, the .38 special round is a joy to shoot. A mid-range load doesn't have a lot of recoil or noise and is darned accurate. Of course, throwing a few .357's in and making the guy in the next lane twitch when it goes off is always fun. Were you in the lane next to me?...

Well the LGS has a sale on so I went over and picked up two more bricks of Blazer $13.99 (which my 22/45 & 10/22 both find agreeable) and passed the 10k range.

Ammo prices going up?

My brother wandered into a small gun shop in Northern Ohio and as it was slow ended up talking with the owner a while and he said prices would be making the largest jump in a long time in March. I was just @ CDNN and they had a notice that prices would go up 10-25% in March. Anyone else hear this?

The "spec ops" folks have moved back to 45's due to the the original reason it was adopted stopping power. I suspect they are shooting and "enhanced" 1911 variant but don't know for sure. We adopted the 9mm as a sop to NATO in 1981 and because the 1911's were plain worn out, though as I recall most ...

I had it clamped in padded copper jaws in my vice. (After I realized it was pretty much impossible without a third hand) The magnet came out of an old laptop drive.

Just remember your guns don't mind you admiring (or even fondling other guns). I had a mini 14 years ago and have an AR now (and occasionally pine for the 14) I also carried an M-16 for 20+ years and have to say they do the job but unless you put a bunch of $$ it's only gonna do it so well

I picked up a new project 10/22 for my daughter when I was at the LGS with my brother. He was doing the paperwork for a purchase when I asked about it sitting in a grocery cart. $150 + tax with the mag and it's lightly used and at least 20 years old. I've stripped it down and have already figured ou...

A quick suggestion

I recently detail stripped my 22/45 (not possible without the info in the Technical forum) and as I pulled the extractor "follower" and spring back I still couldn't get the extractor out. I stopped what I was doing (frustration doesn't yield good results) and my eyes came across my home made magneti...

It's also about the only "industry" that's hasn't seen a decline. Think about all the "miscellaneous" stuff we buy in addition to guns and ammo.Spread the word, teach somebody to shoot.

hard to go wrong with something from Boyds, I'm looking at an evolution for my next build. As a plus it takes all barrel diameters in case you decide to go with a 920

I agree on the 22. I introduced my 11 year old with my MK III. I also had her shoot a few .38s from a medium size pistol which she didn't really care for. Now that my SO has agreed to go I plan on using the 22 except at the very end to introduce her to the 9MM.
