I have a Taurus pt111 (the millennium pro) in 9mm, it is not a pocket pistol unless you have some serious pockets. The thing is put together fine, and it is reliable, but for some reason neither MrsBFD or I ever really enjoyed shooting it. For a little more, you could also get a Springfield XD9 subc...

Did you change the spring on the trigger plunger that pushes up on the disconnector? I know the complete kit has the replacement spring.. Lightens the trigger pull more. Have your magazine have the mods done? VQ trigger came with spring/plunger, I used the new ones. I was almost to the point of fil...

My new Ruger mark two point five (or so)

I completed installation of upgraded; hammer bushing, sear, trigger, and extractor. Also I have the LCI pulled completely. I took my shiny and clean Ruger mkII.5 to the range and ran some ammo through it for function test. in two hours with two shooters and a UCL, we ended up putting a full Federal ...

For my old parts I oil the parts and put them in a small ziplok bag. Just do a fold and staple, do not seal the bag and put it in the safe. If you have any of the treated paper used to preserve parts put it in with the bag. I used the Clark bushing in my MKIII. Some think your suppose to sand to ma...

Hammer bushing from Sam arrived, and parts from VQ as well, so it was time to tear down and rebuild a mkIII again. The problematic 512 bull barrel was selected as the patient and I armed myself with some basic tools and Dr Bullseye's tutorials. With MrsBFD providing the third hand and instruction re...

Stories like this are why I selected Henry for my entry into the world of leverguns.
I suppose a lack of warranty work leads to a bored and overly helpful service department and owner/operator.

I got bored and popped the top off a mkIII (On a side note, I am getting ridiculously proficient at doing that) to pull the LCI. Before I started bonking on the receiver, I figured I'd try the magnet method. (I keep some rare earth magnets handy, they are surprisingly cheap and useful ... I use them...

bearandoldman , that was what had me thinking I could get away with just leaving it out. It isn't like the LCI seals in the first place, so why not have another hole in the receiver opposite the ejection port? Bullseye , to tell you the truth, the big hole idea does bother me, but I'd rather remove...

Bullseye , does the LCI really need to be re-installed? I suspect mine of hampering proper ejection, (and the corners it creates behind the chamber always collect powder/lube residue) and have been considering removing it as I do other upgrades. It seems wrong for the pistol to only appear to have ...

Do any of your pistols have the VQ extractor installed? Not yet, I have 2 on order from VQ, it would be nice if they shipped my order one of these days, I ordered on the tenth and haven't recieved a shipping notification yet. I'm planning on installing the VQ goodies on the more problematic mkIII f...

Well, crap, I lost a big post ... probably my fault. Boiled down, it was: That is exactly the ejection issue I'm having on one of two mkIII pistols, my target model is about a year old now and has stovepipe issues much less often, and the two pistols share 7 magazines and one UCL. Upon inspection, b...

Worked like a charm, now the only issue is the upward ejection resulting in a little tiny trainwreck behind the chamber*, hopefully VQ will get my box of parts shipped soon, because I'm really hoping their extractor fixes the ejection issue.

*less than 5% of the time, perhaps once in 3 magazines.

Check the left grip panel and the hammer pivot pin. Bullseye, you are my hero today, That explains why the L panel didn't sit flat during assembly as well. Off to the range to test, your diagnosis was correct. If I didn't know better, I would think you were sneaking into my safe as I sleep to poke ...

Repair and range report

Well, the part arrived from Ruger in the mail today. I got the pistol back together with only minor wailing and gnashing of teeth (damn tiny parts! Damn tiny gaps in the frame!) and I got a good function check, so off to the range we went. No more slam fires, nice crisp trigger (it was always a bit ...
