Roger, Bullseye. Had an LPA on a CZ75B that I foolishly sold a few years ago. Excellent quality sights. The LPAs for the Rugers are on back order and cost $60+. The bottom of the fixed sight blade is approx 1/8 lower than the lowest bottom of the adj sight with the dovetails equal. As stated above P...

Thanks for the replies. Forgot to mention that I must give it a wack to adjust windage over approx an inch at 25yds as well. Yes, I could sloooooowly file down the front sight while checking to POI every few swipes but I'm the stubborn type and would prefer the adjustable rear, if possible. You are ...

Ruger MKII rear sight dovetail

I bought a MKII fixed sight pencil rec/barrel that (thankfully) shoots accurately but a few inches low of POA/POI at 25yds. I prefer a 6 o'clock hold at 25yds. The fixed dovetail looks quite similar to the adjustable sight dovetail on my adjustable MKIIs and 22/45s but I don't have a micrometer to m...

Thanks, bigfatdave. That Volquartsen gizmo is for a MKIII that still has the mag disconnect installed. Fortunately the MKII doesn't have the disconnect feature. Adding weight? Perhaps a help but would require something really heavy/ugly sticking out of the end of the gun hanging onto the end of the ...

Roger, Bullseye.

I alternate the V grip for Clark grips depending upon the week's competition schedule but haven't paid enough attention to the potential snag of the different grip screws. However, I'll now add that to the preflight checklist. Thanks.

As usual, attention to fundamentals = rewards!

MKII drop-free mag mods!

My local shooting club has added a course of fire for this year that requires a mag change on-the-clock, so ... 1st Mod: Used a small half-round file to create rounded "notch" on the front of my Ranch Products extended mag release to match the rounded "bump" on the back of the mags. Slide a mag into...

Thanks, Bullseye. As usual you're right on the spot! Reading between the lines, you're really stating that if I properly alter the 22/45 upper to fit the MKII metal lower then the 22/45 upper and original 22/45 lower will now be loose-as-a-goose and require many beverage can shims in order to fit sn...

Fitting 22/45 upper on MKII

Help!

I've searched and scrolled but can't find the prior posting that explained (IIRC had a picture, also) the modification of the underbelly of a 22/45 upper required for it to properly fit a MKII lower. Can some one direct me to the info please.

Thanks in advance.

Roger that, Bullseye!

The jig's cost is more than a new hammer spring assembly. Read this Forum's posts concerning the jig, etc. and decided to just buy assemblies as needed.

Many thanks to you again & again for this Forum! You are doing a great service to the shooting community.

Sprang for a MKII hammer spring!

I have detailed in other posts about my MKII Slabside giving me "light strikes" for the past couple of years. The gun has only 5K+ rounds and is eight years old. Meantime I have learned a bucketfull of info about this gun and my 22/45s while reading stickies and doing the mods and clean-up work to e...

Roger on the VQ extractor.

What's a "correct" measurement on the distance between the forward (or back) lips?

smokey: Thanks. That really helps. I have nine MKII mags and all of them have the straight sharp corners pictured in the article. However, the gun has NEVER given me a single stovepipe in 5k+ rounds. This nose-up development with one particular mag may be just part of the symptoms caused by the shar...

MKII Mag "sticky"

Need to tune a couple of my MKII mags that are giving a nose-up problem when feeding. Can't remember where I saw a "sticky" that gave an explanation of the poper mag lip gap and how to taper the ends, etc. Can some one direct me to this info please.

Thanks.

Yes, I'm extremely late with this reply but sometimes deadlines & commitments get in the way of fun. Rather than start a new subject, I ask for your indulgence: (1) Rechecked the internals of my MKII and found that the sear was really dragging on the hammer radius so I cleaned that up quickly. Did N...

WTB scope(s)

Looking for a used high power scope (i.e., Weaver T36, etc.) with adjustable objective for use in 50 yd 10/22 bullseye matches.

May consider other scopes with variable power & AO. Send me an email with your items. Have other shooting Club members looking for scopes as well.Thanks.
