The "John Doe" investigations in Wisconsin by county prosecutors who don't like Walker, have included SWAT no knock raids late at night to seize computers and records. Wisconsin is purely political and is being done to intimidate Walker supporters. DOJ has done a few late-night, no knocks for recor...

funny you say militarize... Charleslb... there is a fine line with modernizing and militarizing. Having Patrol carbines/rifles, BDU style uniforms, body armor, armored cars etc. isn't Militarization, it Modernization. In reality, who would want to go after an armed suspect or towards an active Kille...

Good to stay paranoid. Ottawa: Looks like the bad guy was a jihadi out for soldiers and politicians. He was stopped by a retired Mountie, the Sergeant of Arms. I guess in Canada, Sergeants at Arms are armed. Ferguson: most evidence supports Wilson. Who knows what the rabble rousers are going to do....

those spinners are great fun and great marksmanship trainers. I have 2 they've probably taken several thousand 22lr, all of the major pistol cals from 380 to 44mag, and a couple 308 win... hitting a rubber spinner the size of a coke can at 25 yards with a service pistol/revolver is a good time. soun...

How Current Events Have Changed My Habits
This is not a political rant just an observation. I've been a police officer/ sheriff's deputy for going on 16 years. I have carried off duty more or less religiously for that time. For most of that time my off duty gun was my back up gun either a Walther PPK/s 380 or a Smith 442 .38 special, with a...

If it's a Dick's gift card it's already spent. Did you talk to the manager? It might be that this kid had some strange idea of company policy. At least when confronted with some obviously dumb idea, the response has been that they misunderstood the policy. Maybe I'll work going into the local Dick'...

sig p320
In my wanderings today I saw a sig p320 behind the counter of 9 be of my LGS' s .. that's the new striker fired sig that's on their modular frame for the p 250 dao auto. The grip felt too skinny to be a double stack magazine but felt about like a 1911 in size and grip angle. Then I tried the trigger...

rant on Dick's.....
I was out wandering about and ended up at Dick's I asked the gun clerk to look at a rifle. He said he needed to see my ID first, then had to hold on to it while I looked at the rifle. I asked why he said it was company policy since "some guy on Texas asked to see an 870 and ran out of the store with...

bg3, That is a very insightful list. I particularly like numbers 2 thru 6. And those of us who have... matured (well gotten old, actually) should take note of #4 for our night stand / bedside firearm. Coach thanks coach1, it only took me 14 years of police work to figure that out..... I'm a slow le...

The OP is talking about an LC9, basically a belly gun. SD distance is usually 5 yards at the most, and most likely about 10 feet, maybe? Haka, the taser has a range of 7 yards (21 feet and you run out of wire) so that eaquals your "belly gun standard" for the lc9 ... Besides, a laser, when in use, ...
