Re: Message to BearandOldMan
Hello (my friend) Len, Just wanted to check in and say "Hello to you and Bear" ... Also wanted to let you know that our dawg is crippled up, and trying to recuperate. She's only nine but developed some arthritis already, so our long evening walks together are on a "Long Hold" I'm afraid. I really m...

Re: Thanks
Thanks Bear and Bullseye, I appreciate the response to my problem and thanks to Bullseye, I figured out what was going on. In the dark confines of the pistol's frame, I managed to get the spring incorrectly installed. Once I fixed this little gremlin, it works like I expect a Ruger Mark II to work....

Re: Volquartsen sear
I have a Mark II bull barrelled target pistol. I installed a Volquartsen sear and the reduction in trigger pull weight is very nice, however, now I get a failure to recock, on average about once or twice per magazine load. I have tried different brands of ammo and different magazines, but still thi...

Re: Finally got out to shoot some clays

I finally got to shoot some sporting clays yesterday although it was just a five station setup , because the normal course is not open yet due to the time of year and mud etc... The first time thru was not too good. was still trying to find the birds and where they ...

rifle conversion tube
There is a company and I have looked at their website that makes inserts in different types that list for about $106.00 including shipping for the 18" model in a 45-70 gov. The price is right but would the product work? I have used the Briley Companion tube to shoot 28 age in my 12 gage o/u shotgun...

Re: Inserts for 12 ga. Shotgun
I have a New England Firearms Survivor Model SB1 12 Ga 3" Mod. shotgun with a 22 " barrel. It is a good "truck" gun. I have read about and have found a source for shotgun inserts that enables one to fire different kinds of rounds in a shotgun via the inserts. I have read about one inserts in a 45-7...

Re: Wolf ammo
Been looking at the on-line ammo deals for some less-expensive .45 auto for plinking and target shooting. It seems like Wolf ammo is cheaper than about anything else but I've heard some bad things about it. Anyone had any experience with it? Good news, bad news? Depends on the gun you are shooting ...

5 round clip
That block of wood may work but may not be recognized as being legal because it can be altered too easy. Rmemeber when hunting migratory birds, even one loose round of lead ammo is a violtion, might better look into a legal clip and not even carrya ten rounder even if it is empty. In Michigan carryi...

Did not use the stiock one in th first gun very long, just thought I had to have one and changed it before I shot it much. Got the second gun and left the sock extractor in it and can not recall a...

The city mayor, in all his greatness and magnanimity, reportedly will allow his constituents to retain ownership so long as the guns are kept outside city limits. Or else, they will generously be given a number of days to dispose of their firearms without being prosecuted. And listen- in Alameda Cou...

=============== Ach, so!... Du kannst Deutsch sprechen?... You know what my SN means. I guess Bear walks you every day? (^o^) I feel much better now that I know how my SG is patterning- I feel more confident. As to whether that will translate to more clays broken, that, of course, remains to be seen...

How far left is the center of thepattern? As your rear sight is your eye you may have to alter the stock. Are you righ or left handed ============ Thanks, Bear. I am right-handed, right-eye dominant. Center of the pattern I would say is some 3" left at 12 yds 1) I found that there IS a slight tende...

Re: PATTERNING
I just patterned my 12 ga pump. I know, I know-- this dumbo did just that: put the cart before the horse-- go trap- then dove shooting before patterning but better late than never. (No- I didn't fill my limit. BLUSH ) Anyways... I used both Remington and Winchester gameloads- 7-1/2, first at 12 yds...

============ Hi, guys- Am a newbie with a scattergun and the lingo that goes with it, though I had shot a few rounds of trap with a 12ga modified using #7-1/2 shots. Had watched skeet but the birds are intimidating- they seem too fast- could hardly see the thangs with my bifocals. Now, is shooting s...
