Re: penguins

My ancestry is Polish (I'm 2nd Gen. American), and my parents would speak it when they wanted to talk around us children without our eavesdropping in on the conversation. To this day I don't speak the language, but I wished they'd have taught it to me. Funny, back then all most immigrant families wa...

penguins

I didn't attend a parochial school but I spent many hours there under catecism instruction. Needless to say, I was one of the nuns favorite batting practice targets. Many of those penguins could've gone on up to the major leagues with the amount of swings they got in on me. Both my parents went to ...

Mine didn't carry guns just rulers that seemed that big. I still cannot figure out how they could move so silently through the room with all those beads and clothes on. R, Bullseye You must have gone to a parochial chool with Felician Sisters also. A ruler or the blackboard pointer was the weapon o...

73 virgins

Man, that males me think of my grade school day a long time ago. Looks like some of the nuns at the school I went to.

ballistic plotting programs

Thanks Bullseye abd Arlin, that Federal program I have tried before and did not care for it. Just looking for something new of bettter that the one I have been using. Don't know why as it seems to get the job done for me. I have been using one free program from Oehler called Ballistic Explorer and h...

Ballistic graph programs

Bullseye, noticed your post on Rimfire Central with the trajectory chart, what program are you using and how can I get a copy of it. Looks to be very useful.

Bullseye, you can't beat the CCI standaeds as far as a good mediuk price ammo, shoit a lot of them in the days when I had my 10/22. Tried one pak of the Golden Bullets and had all kinds of feed and chambering problems, the started to get a lot of fail to fires, probably because they did not fully se...

The only gun I shoot the Remington golden thunderbolt bulk pack bullets is in a Marlin Model 60. They lead up the barrel something fierce, but that micro groove barrel doesn't seem to mind it. R, Bullseye Neverr had any leading problems but fail to feed and chamber in my 22/45's, seemed s if the wa...

Re: Lubed bullets really needed?

A friend gave me a brick of Remington Thunderbolts but I'm leery of shooting them after seeing all the posts about them gumming up the action. What would be the downside of tumbling them to remove all the lube? I realize that I may get some heavy barrel leading, but then I see so many posts about s...

Jack, you got too much time on your hands, glad you have this project to work on. Idle hands are the Devil's workhop or something like that. Got another VQ sear to put in the other scoped 22/45, so I too have a small project to keep me oout of or get me into trouible. Take care my friend and maybe w...

Toys

bearandoldman, I just enjoy the tinkering and trying to improve things. Between the guns and my three computers I always have something to play with(or break and fix) and if an old man does not have some toys to play with by the time he is my age he has had a wasted life. Jack An old man with no to...

Tinkering

Looks like too much tinkering to me Jack, I know the gun is abetter shooter than I will ever be and the standard cheapie ammo is a lot more accurate than me also. So I wlll just go th the range and send a lot if it down range and enjoy just shooting, Not oput to impress anyone other than myself and ...

No idea, and I really have no way of finding out at this point. Whoever it was, I believe was exploiting a bug in the software. Something we won't know until the new stuff is up and then we'll see if problems persist. Good luck, I know you just finished classes until next fall and I know ther are a...

I'm busy mocking a test server on my own system to try a software upgrade on the forum database. Once that clears, then I'll try it on the site. Upon completion the site should reopen. It won't have the MarkII theme anymore, but at least the forum will be up and running. I'm estimating another week...
